5.5・Import Text Files

Here are high level instructions for creating and importing songs into MySongbook. For more details and video examples look at the other help pages.

*A plain text editor like Notepad is better, but I keep getting emails of people using Microsoft Word. If you must use word, you need to be very careful to use it as a text only editor. See Video here.

Format is fairly strict. Chords are optional. If you have chords on separate lines, that is okay, but 1) you need to specific a fixed width font in settings, 2) MySongbook will not be able to transpose.

Step2: eMail to yourself

Summary of steps:

  1. In browser, find lyrics and copy.
  2. Open new document in Microsoft Word* and right click then select “Paste Special” and “Unformatted Text”.
  3. Save as a Plain Text document!
  4. Edit format.
  5. Email document to yourself.
  6. Open attachment in mail on iPad/iPhone. Long press then select “open with” MySongbook to import.
